BABA JUKE
Baba Juke™ is an intergenerational storytelling and cultural preservation project exploring the relationships between music loving fathers and their daughters. Rooted in my own relationship with my father, the project gathered family stories through interviews and transformed them into a multimedia exhibition, public programs, performances and community experiences.
Through photography, visual art, music, oral history and gathering, Baba Juke created space to honor fatherhood, preserve cultural memory and explore how music carries story, identity and connection across generations.
MANY TONGUES
Many Tongues was a multimedia exhibition exploring the many ways we tell stories and make meaning. Bringing together visual art, comedy, sustainable fashion, food, film, music and conversation, the experience invited artists working across disciplines to share the unique languages through which they communicate identity, culture and lived experience. Conceived, curated and produced through Eye N Eye, Many Tongues transformed a single space into an immersive gathering where different forms of storytelling could exist in conversation with one another.
BEFORE THE POEM
Before the Poem is an immersive storytelling experience created and curated by Eye N Eye LLC that explores everything that happens before a poem is written, spoken, or shared. Presented during the Detroit Literary Conference at The LOVE Building, the experience blended poetry, visual art, interactive installations, and silent-disco technology to invite audiences into the creative process. Through three listening channels, participants encountered different voices, perspectives, and artistic expressions before gathering for a live poetry performance. More than a showcase, Before the Poem challenged traditional ideas of how poetry is experienced, transforming storytelling into something audiences could hear, see, feel, and move through.
DETROIT JAZZ FESTIVAL
In 2023, I was selected as the official poster artist for the Detroit Jazz Festival. The piece honors my father and grandfather, the two men who introduced me to jazz, and became a way to channel grief into art after their passing. The two figures represent myself, my father and my grandfather, capturing the intimacy, memory and generational connection we shared through music.
