Ear Wax
30 × 40
“What’s the Story”
Nobody really seems to get what I was trying to depict with this painting. It’s an ear! But people see all kinds of things—a baby, a fetus in a womb. I get it… art is subjective. But still… it’s an ear! LOL. What do you see?
I painted “Ear Wax” during a time when I was fasting heavily. My father was in the hospital, and I wanted to do everything I could to connect with spirit—to quiet the noise and really listen for guidance.
The ear became a symbol of that: clearing out distractions so we can hear spirit clearly.
My father did transition that year. But through that discipline—through that listening—I received instructions, powerful visions of the afterlife, and a painting style that’s still evolving.
I’m grateful I listened.
