Yes—this is exactly what you think it is. I had just come out of a relationship when an artist mentor of sorts invited me to their studio to paint, just for fun. I brought this canvas that had been sitting untouched—just a black background with red streaks. I had honestly given up on it, thinking it was a lost cause. But they encouraged me not to throw it away—instead, to deepen it, to paint over it. That moment felt symbolic of the shift happening in my life. From that, this vibrant painting was born.
