I consider this one of my early paintings—though most people wouldn’t know it. I was in a phase where I prioritized what the customer might want over my own pure expression. Not sure if that was good or bad, but at the time, my work wasn’t selling much. I figured folks wanted something they could hang in their living room—something neutral, abstract…not a cartoon character or a mythical figure I had dreamt up the night before. That’s what led to this piece. Exploring abstract art felt incredibly freeing, and I definitely stayed in this space for a while.
