Whats the Story?
“Moon Cycle” was born during a time when I was learning to fully embrace my feminine side—all of her. As I dove deeper into understanding the cycles of women, and how some are synced with the moon, I felt called to paint a yoni on canvas. I anticipated discomfort but chose to lean into the raw and the real, with Janelle Monáe’s “Pynk” playing in the background as my anthem.
Over the years, I’ve reimagined this painting—no longer afraid to add more shapes, more figures, and more layers to the yoni. Each stroke is a deeper dive into the infinite possibilities of who she can be.
