What’s the Story?
This painting is based on a photo I took while living in Arizona. It was a beautiful day—I had finally found a place to live after being abruptly kicked out by someone who had promised me housing. For the first time in a while, I felt settled…secure. I went for a walk and sat on what would soon become my college campus, snapping a photo. I remember noticing how radiant my skin looked in the Arizona sun, how beautiful the landscape was. And yet…even in that beauty, I still found ways to hide behind it. Hmm…
